Everyone runs late in the morning every once in again, but that doesn't mean you have to look like you just rolled out of bed. You can look runway ready in just under 5 minutes! Here are two top Spring 2014 hair trends seen on the runway with tips to recreate them from Warren-Tricomi’s co-owner and master hair stylist, Edward Tricomi. 5 minutes and you're our the door!
THE LOOK: TOUSELED FRENCH BRAIDS
SEEN AT: Rachel Zoe, Nicole Miller
Running late for work? Utilize your hair’s natural texture with an effortlessly cool braid.
Get the look: Don’t fret - Edward Tricomi recommends working L’Oreal Professionnel Mousse Volupte ($22.50, LPSalons.com) from roots to ends to create volume and texture
Step 1: Rough dry and finger comb – don’t use a brush
Step 2: Starting at the crown, loosely braid hair, getting tighter as you work down through the lengths and ends of the hair. “The more unkempt, the better,” says Tricomi
Step 3: Rub hands over braid to create friction and texture
Step 4: Pull hair at nape of neck and braid to loosen
Step 5: Finish with L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium 2 hairspray ($24.50, LPSalons.com)
THE LOOK: SECURED PONYTAIL
SEEN AT: Vera Wang, Victoria Beckham
The classically sporty ponytail feels refreshed when accessorized with a basic headband for a simple, casual glamour look.
Step 1: Start with freshly blown out hair and gather hair about one inch from the neck into a low pony.
Step 2: Secure ponytail with an elastic
Step 3: Place headband over the head and pull ponytail halfway through to create a small bun
Step 4: Leave the ends of hair out
Step 5: Finish with L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium 2 hairspray ($24.50, LPSalons.com) to flatten any flyaways
For an alternative headband, Edward suggests cutting off the legs of old tights and wrap around the hair. Use any color for a playful look
