I’m always on the lookout for toxin-free, cruelty-free haircare products, so when my friends at Innersense asked me to try their green, organic haircare products, I was over the moon happy. With 11 hair care products, the Innersense line includes shampoos and conditioners for normal and color-treated hair, Quiet Calm Curl Control to tame curly tresses, and products to create volume, hold and finishing. As a Certified Green Business, Innersense products do not contain parabens, sulfates, phthalates, ethoxylates, silicones, petrochemicals, artificial dyes, fragrances, glutens, GMOs and more. They do contain powerful plant ingredients including pumpkin, shea, coconut lotus and orange flower oils, norolie, rice bran oils, honey, lavender tamanu and wheatgrass.
Founders Greg and Joanne Starkman are committed to working with local farmers near their California headquarters that use long-standing practices to produce ingredients in the most eco-sensitive ways. After harvesting, they cold-press and steam-distill ingredients, which results in perfectly pure extracts.

Why I LOVE Innersense:
Although I wear extensions and wigs most of the time as I’m growing my hair out, my natural hair is usually quite dry. The Color Awakening Shampoo provides a gentle cleansing hair bath that is 100% color safe and rinses away clean. It’s made with certified and biodynamic extracts of pumpkin seeds, shea butter and coconut oil which my hair LOVES. When followed with the Color Radiance Daily Conditioner, which I leave in for 5 minutes and then rinse out, it really infuses moisture into my hair.
The Quiet Calm Curl Control is just what my dry hair needs. Just apply to damp hair and let the hair dry. It really defines my hair’s natural curl and gets rid of the frizzies!
The Sweet Spirit Leave in Conditioner is the perfect leave in conditioner on the days when I blow dry and flat iron my hair. I also spray this on my human hair extensions. It really gives my hair more life, bounce and shine without the stickiness and without weighing my hair down like some leave-in products. It also smells lovely – like orange blossoms!
