By Carla Snuggs
It’s a brand new year, so start if off right by updating your nails with the latest nail and manicure trends. Posh Beauty Blog turned to Danielle Candido, Red carpet Manicure's Nail Educator to learn about what’s in store for this season. Below, Danielle delivers the hottest nail trends we’ll be seeing this winter.
Oval and Almond Nails
A big trend in nails this season will be in the shape of them. Expect to see more oval or almond shape nails. This has an elongating affect on the fingers and a softer, more feminine appearance overall. Source
Glitter Ombre
Glitter ombre will be in abundance. Red Carpet Manicure offers a variety of nail art kits and step-by-step tutorials, making it incredibly easy- with different color combinations, the possibilities are endless. Source
Twilight Nails
Reverse French/French Moon is when the lanula area of the nail (the half-moon shape at the base of the nail) is painted one color and the rest of the nail is another color. It's a look that can go from soft and demure to smart and edgy to downright fun and funky. Pictured: Midnight Affair with Camera Shy, in what Essence magazine called “The Twilight Nail.” Source
Matte Nails
Lastly, matte finish will be adding a level of sophistication and edge to nail and nail art this season. To get the matte look, polish your nails as you regularly would. After applying RCM’s Brilliance Top Coat and curing, lightly file and buff the shine away for a duller look. There is something very refreshing about taking an old favorite color and seeing it in a whole new way. Source
